A suspected burglar was scared off by Ant and Dec on a couple’s Ring doorbell while allegedly trying to break into their home.

Mo Zeb was out for dinner with his wife when he received a notification from his Ring doorbell saying that someone was outside their home.

The couple panicked when they spotted a masked man approaching their front door.

In the chilling clip, the man can be seen trying to pull the doorbell from the wall.

He accidentally presses the doorbell, triggering the voices of iconic I’m A Celeb duo Ant and Dec.

The famous Geordies can be heard saying “Hello, Ant and Dec here.

“Coming up, someone will answer this door.

“The question is, who’s it going to be?

“Stay right where you are to find out.”

The suspected crook was given such a fright that he ran away and jumped in a waiting car which then sped off.

“We got the shock of our lives when we saw someone trying to rip the doorbell off,” Mo, from Newcastle, told What’s the Jam.

“I got a notification and the guy had pressed the doorbell by accident.

“We heard Ant’s voice saying hello and the guy ran off.

“The doorbell is genius. Luckily, they didn’t realise it wasn’t a real person.

“I think the Geordie accent made it more convincing.”

Ring customers can add Ant and Dec’s voices to their devices.

Landlord Mo went home to check on the house but the man was nowhere to be seen.

He said: “I was able to get home in two minutes but there was no one around.

“There were other men in the car as well.

“Luckily, we weren’t in.”

Mo reported what happened on Monday (Dec 2) at 11pm to Northumberland Police.

He added: “They were laughing at him being scared off by Ant and Dec.

“It’s funny to watch but it’s scary to think about what could have happened if it wasn’t for the doorbell.”

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 11.40pm on Monday, December 2, we received a report of an attempted burglary.

“It was reported an offender had attempted to gain access to the property and remove a doorbell camera, before leaving the area.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information can get in touch by sending us a direct message on social media, or using live chat and report forms on our website.

“Those unable to make contact in these ways can call 101. Please quote reference: 142797D/24.”
