Britons are buzzing about a new kitchen gadget that lets them cook beans on toast simultaneously, a convenience that’s taken social media by storm.

This excitement comes in the wake of a culinary upset, where the beloved beans on toast lost its title of ‘Europe’s most loved dish’ to the kebab.

The disappointing result emerged from a survey of 75,000 people for Amazon’s Food Cup videos, where each European country was represented by a signature meal.

Despite this setback, there’s a silver lining for fans of the classic dish. Ian Ford, a joint night editor at The Guardian, shared his excitement on X about discovering the Tefal Toast ‘n’ Egg ‘n’ Beans 2 Slice Toaster.

“My toaster packed up this morning so I was researching alternatives. Astonished to find this is a real thing…,” he tweeted, including an image of the multifunctional appliance.

The Tefal toaster, which boasts nearly 600 five-star reviews, features a small pot on the side that can cook beans while toasting bread.

This ingenious design has captivated social media users, who praise its efficiency.

Caroline shared, “Husband bought me this when we first started dating,” humorously adding that it was “one of many reasons” she married him.

Tech enthusiast Daniel remarked, “This is the sort of thing tech bros should be pushing. Who knew toaster tech had moved so far into the future?”

Meanwhile, David quoted Shakespeare, “O brave new world, that has such wonders in it!” Adrian, showcasing typical British wit, noted, “Does take up a bit of extra space tho.”

Rob, a satisfied owner, offered practical advice: “Buy it, but immediately throw away the little rack for ‘warming meats’ because that’s a cursed idea.”

Another user reminisced about owning the toaster, calling it a “brilliant invention,” though ultimately parting with it due to its size.

Not everyone was entirely convinced, with Kevin humorously alluding to the perils of scientific ambition: “Your scientists were too preoccupied with whether they could…”

The Tefal two-in-one toaster, priced at £46 at Argos, is also available from other retailers. As an added bonus, the small pot can also cook an egg, making a quick partial fry-up possible.
