“[The secret] is learning when to keep your mouth shut,” Trudy told What’s The Jam.

“You can get fed up at times.

“We are happy that we can still be together.”

Alan and Trudy both moved to Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby, owned by Avery Healthcare, which partnered with online care home finder, Lottie, in August last year.

Peter, 90, and Eileen, 89, have also been together for decades, having tied the know in August 1958.

They first met at Manchester University when they attended a dance and the rest was history.

Peter, from Surrey, and Eileen, from Nottingham, have shared some very touching advice to those seeking everlasting love.
