Asda has launched a new premium ice cream inspired by one of Britain’s most iconic summer treats just days before Wimbledon gets underway.
The supermarket’s new Exceptional by Asda Cornish Clotted Cream & Strawberry Dairy Ice Cream takes inspiration from the classic combination synonymous with the famous tennis tournament.
Made in the UK using British dairy, the luxury dessert combines fresh British milk, British cream and Cornish clotted cream with a generous high-fruit strawberry ripple.

Developed by a family-run, farm-based British supplier, the new flavour has joined Asda’s premium Exceptional range and is designed to bring a luxurious twist to the traditional summertime favourite, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The launch comes ahead of Wimbledon, which begins on 29 June, when strawberries and cream will once again feature as one of the tournament’s most recognisable traditions.
Kay Davies, Asda’s Product Developer for Ice Cream, said: “Every year, Wimbledon puts strawberries and cream back in the spotlight, so we’ve taken this much-loved British classic and reimagined it as a premium ice cream flavour.
“By combining exceptional ingredients with thoughtful product development, we’ve created something that feels both familiar and indulgent.
“Launching in our Exceptional range, we wanted to give customers an affordable taste of luxury.

Working closely with our trusted British supplier, we’ve crafted a product that showcases the quality of British dairy.”
Davies said the recipe took months to perfect after the team explored several different strawberry ice cream concepts.
She added: “We explored numerous strawberry ice cream concepts but wanted to create something truly special.

“We felt that Strawberry and Clotted Cream is quintessentially British, so opted for a luxurious white ice cream base made with fresh British milk, British cream and Cornish clotted cream, complemented by a vibrant strawberry ripple, taking months to perfect the recipe.
“The result is a balanced combination of rich dairy creaminess and pockets of fruity strawberry flavours.
We ensured to include a high-fruit-content ripple rather than fresh strawberry pieces to maintain a smoother, more indulgent texture, creating a premium product that stands apart from similar ice cream flavour offerings on the market.”
The Exceptional by Asda Cornish Clotted Cream & Strawberry Dairy Ice Cream is available now in stores nationwide and online, priced at £3.29 for a 500ml tub, which works out at around 47p per scoop.
