Asda launches first-ever hot food meal deal at UK stores

Asda has made a major change to its meal deal range with the launch of a new £4 offer.

The supermarket is allowing customers to build a meal from 30 different products, with options available for breakfast, lunch and food on the move.

Shoppers can choose a main, side and dip, with combinations including pizza and fries, chicken wings with Cajun mayonnaise or a sausage and bacon bap with a hash brown.

Unlike the traditional sandwich-based format, every part of Asda’s latest meal deal is centred around hot food, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The Hot Food To Go Meal Deal is the first offer of its kind to be launched at the supermarket’s rotisserie counters.

Customers can select from 17 mains, five sides and eight dips at participating stores nationwide.

Lunchtime choices include Southern fried chicken baps, barbecue ribs, chicken nuggets, spicy mini fillets and slices of Chicago Town pizza.

For breakfast, there’s sausage, bacon or sausage and bacon baps before adding a hash brown and sauce.

Other sides include potato lattices, sausage rolls and skin-on fries, while customers in Scotland can also select a Bells Scotch pie.

Dips range from familiar options including tomato sauce, brown sauce and mayonnaise to Buffalo, Piri Piri, Texas BBQ and garlic and herb.

The launch builds on Asda’s existing standard food-to-go meal deal and the premium £5 option introduced earlier this year.

Stephanie Ashby, buying manager of rotis and food services at Asda, said: “We know our customers are looking for convenient meal options that don’t compromise on taste or value, which is why we’re delighted to introduce our new £4 Hot Food To Go Meal Deal.

“From freshly made breakfast baps to pizza slices, spicy chicken fillets and crispy fries, there’s something for everyone to enjoy for breakfast, lunch and beyond.

“With plenty of mix-and-match combinations available, it’s a great-value option for shoppers looking for a hot meal on the move.”
