An angry mum has slammed her son’s school claiming he was bullied after being forced to wear a cartoon tie as a punishment.

Lenny Walton had to don the Christmas neckwear – with a reindeer and holly on it.

Mum Natasha said he was forced to wear it for forgetting his school tie one day at the secondary.

But she claimed 13-year-old Lenny – who has autism, learning difficulties and anxiety issues – was then picked on.

She said fellow pupils at the Royal Harbour Academy in Ramsgate, Kent taunted him.

Fuming Natasha, 43, said it was the first time her son had forgotten to wear his uniform tie and the school’s reaction was cruel and unnecessary.

She said: “As a pupil with special needs they have a duty of care to look after Lenny and protect him.

“They haven’t done that and it’s like going back to the old days when vulnerable children were treated like objects of fun.

“He was really upset when he got home and hasn’t been back since.

“No child should be treated like this.”

She also told What’s The Jam: “As soon as Lenny got home he told me what had happened.

“I tried contacting the school by phone and email but heard nothing for three days.

“A member of staff explained what had happened.

“I told them that’s not the way to treat any child, let alone one with autism and anxiety issues.

“All they said was ‘I’m sorry you feel that way’ but added they would probably carry on doing the same.”

It happened last Tuesday (3 Dec).

A spokesperson for Royal Harbour Academy said: “The school is not commenting and has managed the matter directly with the parent.”
