An angry Brit fed up with potholes in his local neighbourhood has filled one with Weetabix to prove a point.
Ben Thornbury from Malmesbury was cheered on by cyclists as he filled in the dent.
The 20-year-old was fed up with seeing the “poor” condition of the road in Somerford Keynes, Gloucestershire.

Yesterday (6 July), he grabbed the breakfast cereal and shoved it neatly into the hole – before propping the products up to take some snaps, alongside two bottles of milk.
“I…. filled one of the potholes with Weetabix in an effort to draw attention to the poor condition of the roads and prompt action from the council,” said Ben.
“Numerous cyclists passed by and showed their support, applauding the creative way of raising awareness.
“After all, not many people can say they’ve had Weetabix for breakfast – straight from a pothole!”
Ben says he was inspired by a man who in 2018 posed as a council worker for East Ayrshire Council, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The prankster filled a pothole in Kilmarnock with Coco Pops before pouring milk over it.
The video soon went viral.
Ben said: “I do personally like Weetabix and I chose them because they do vary and you get some firmer than others, so I thought they would be best to fill the pothole with.
This stunt is part of a broader campaign, following earlier efforts like the Crazy Pothole Golf and Pothole Fishing events along Abbey Row.
“Weetabix hasn’t been involved in the stunt and it was done by myself entirely, I brought all the [cereal] to go inside of the pothole.
“Many people have been in contact with Gloucestershire Highways about getting this pothole repaired as it’s on one of the key roads in and out of Somerford Keynes.
“I am fed up with the council not doing anything about these potholes!
“This was a way to raise awareness and get action taken.”
Jam Press has contacted Weetabix and Gloucestershire County Council.
