An alligator has appeared on a British beach – made from pebbles and shells.

The impressive mosaic was created by Leva Slare and husband Dzindars.

The couple took over five hours to create the artwork which was over five-feet-long.

The pair are dab hands at beach art regularly creating fun forms in the sand.

Previous designs include Paddington bear, a dolphin and turtle.

They started their creations in the aftermath of the first Covid pandemic lockdown.

And they are still going now.

It was made on Sandymere beach, Westward Ho!, near Barnstable, Devon.

Their alligator went down well with viewers.

Dan Thompson gushed: “You are so intelligent I love this.”
