Aldi customers are being urged to keep an eye out for a little-known “secret code” on shelf labels that could help them bag serious savings.

The trick, shared on social media, highlights how certain products may soon disappear from shelves – giving Brits the chance to snap them up before they’re gone.

The code to watch for is a small ‘D’ printed in the corner of pricing labels.

It signals that the item is being discontinued, meaning once it sells out, it won’t be restocked, What’s The Jam reports.

Shoppers who spot the label are encouraged to stock up while they still can – especially if the product is already discounted.

The tip was shared by money-saving expert Jordon Cox, also known online as the Coupon Kid.

He explained that while the label often appears on Aldi’s Specialbuys and limited-time products, it can also be found on everyday items across the store.

According to Aldi, prices are regularly reviewed and adjusted, with new deals and limited-time offers appearing each week.

The supermarket says it aims to stay competitive and pass savings on to customers through frequent price changes and promotions.

The hack has sparked discussion online, with shoppers sharing their reactions.

One user said: “I wish I knew that yesterday”.

Another user wrote: “Ohhh I wish I knew this before they discontinued the rocky road bites. They were one of their best cakes.”

Meanwhile, one user joked: “Think the bright red reduced tag is more of a clue”.
