A woman has sparked a quarrel online after she wore white to her mother-in-law’s wedding.
TikTokker Lisa shared the story with her followers, with the post racking up 36,000 views and sparking fierce debate in the comments.
The 38-year-old administrative assistant, from Torbay, often posts tales sent in by her fans.

This time, it was a woman attending her mother-in-law’s nuptials, wondering if she had been wrong to opt for a bridal-esque gown in a case of tit-for-tat.
She claims that her mother-in-law turned up to her wedding five years ago in “a floor-length lacy white gown”, which she describes as “bridal-looking”.
She added: “If she’d worn a veil, people would have followed her down the aisle.”
The woman claimed that, despite an argument on the day, she “let it go” as she was focused on getting married – but decided to get her own back half a decade later when the opportunity presented itself.
Confessing to the “pettiness”, and with her husband’s blessing, she arrived at the wedding in a white summer dress.

Now, she says her mother-in-law is telling people she tried to ruin her big day, despite others being aware of what happened five years ago.
She added: “My husband thinks it was hilarious, but I do feel a bit bad about the level of pettiness. Am I wrong?”
Lisa posed the question to her followers, captioning the clip: “She could have been the bigger person, but this level of pettiness makes me chuckle!!”

It has since gone viral with over 36,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

Lisa was left in stitches by the debacle.
“I thought this was very funny – I have seen posts before about mothers-in-law wearing white to their son’s wedding, but this one sounded extreme with the full-length lace dress,” Lisa told What’s The Jam.
“It makes me wonder if people really have no shame.
“I would worry about what everyone else would think.
“The woman did add that she was in two minds about doing it, but her husband was more of the instigator, as he was furious with his mum after their wedding.
“He says his mum has always been like that, wanting to be the centre of attention and making a scene.
“She was almost not invited.
“She also stated that the dress she wore was just a usual shorter summer dress, so it wasn’t bridal at all, but was white to make the statement.
“Some guests looked at her strangely, but the ones that knew what the mother-in-law wore found it funny.
“I personally wouldn’t have the guts to do something like that, but I think it was hilarious and good on them for standing up against her.”
