A woman has left social media users baffled after revealing that she lives with a splinter in her eye.
The tiny piece of wood has been embedded in Sydney White’s eye for 10 years.
The 27-year-old says it isn’t painful but feels “scratchy”, but she still hasn’t opted to have it extracted.

She recently shared a clip of the phenomenon to TikTok, where the video has gathered over 422,000 views.
“I was on a day out [and] went on a tour with my family,” Sydney, from North Idaho, told What’s The Jam.
“While there, the tour guide pointed up to some building work.
“As she did so and I looked up, I felt a searing pain in my left eye that wouldn’t go away.
“It took a couple of weeks for the pain to subside and redness to go down, but when I finally could look at my eye, I saw it.

“A tiny piece of wood had fallen into my eyeball.
“On occasion it does bother me, it feels scratchy.
“If I press on my lid on the splinter site it is sore still, even 10 years later.”

Sydney does not plan on pursuing any removal.
She said: “If an eye doctor had told me to remove it, I would have.
“I suppose there could be risk of infection if removed, but there’s always a risk of it affecting my eyesight, if it hasn’t already.”
In the clip, Sydney looks into the lens as she zooms her camera in closer and closer
As it gets closer, the tiny bit of wood can be seen stuck in her eye.
It is in the sclera, the white part of the eyeball, but is extremely close to her iris, the coloured part which contains the pupil.
She captioned the video: “Hey, your eyes have a little wood in them.”
Text across the video explains that the wood reportedly got lodged during a tour at Harry Potter World but Sydney has not expressed any negative comments towards the site.
The clip has since gained over 27,300 likes and 140 comments from followers.
