A professional circus artist left onlookers stunned after a shocking fall during a pole stunt on board a European cruise.
The incident, which was caught on camera, happened during a “Shiny Party” hosted by Celebrity Cruises.
Performer Marylee Whitlock, 28, had been invited to try out the X-Pole that had been set up at the event.

“I asked who was going to use it or if I could use it, and they said yes,” Marylee, from Atlanta, Georgia, told What’s The Jam.
“The move is called a shoulder mount, and was going well until my hips went above my head, at which point the humidity and sweat made the pole slick and I came crashing down.”
The shocking video shows Marylee attempting the move before suddenly slipping and landing on her head.
Fortunately, she was able to tuck and roll out of the fall, escaping without serious injury.
She added: “This is inherently dangerous and I have been trained to fall in situations like this – no one should try it at home or without the help of a professional, and insurance.”
The footage, posted to Instagram and captioned “Sometimes, things don’t go as planned… Yes, I’m okay,” has been viewed over 70,000 times and sparked a dramatic response on social media.
One viewer commented: “I thought her head went through the floor.”
Another wrote: “I’d be in my room for the rest of the cruise.”
“Bro, I’d chuck off into the vast nothingness of those waters. Never to be seen or heard from again,” another user said.
Somebody else joked: “Chile, I’m requesting a helicopter lift and taking my a** home after that.”
