A hyperrealistic baker has shared her fabulous desserts that resemble carrots, fish and apples – but can YOU tell which is cake?
Sophie Tinsley from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, is an expert at tricking the eye.
The 27-year-old creates incredible baked goods that resemble everyday ingredients.

Similarly to the popular Netflix show ‘Is It Cake?’ Sophie then asks them to guess which is the real deal, before the grand reveal.
She’s also baked hyperrealistic broccoli, watermelon, bananas and tangerines.
“I’ve loved baking ever since I was a child, my grandma taught me how,” Sophie told What’s The Jam.
“[But] I [only] started taking baking seriously two years ago.
“I’m self-taught, so it’s still a work in progress and I’m figuring things out as I go.

“I do watch baking shows on TV like the ‘Is it Cake?‘ series on Netflix, and there’s another online cake decorator ‘SideSerf Cakes’ I sometimes watch for inspiration.”
Sophie follows a particular set of steps to create her hyperrealistic desserts.
She starts by baking the cake before carving it, and then she will cover it with buttercream, create modelling chocolate or fondant, and add finer details using modelling tools, paints and glaze.

It can take her between two to three hours to finalise a set of apples or carrots.
The fish she designed took a bit longer – six hours – due to the detail required.
The apples and carrots were cake pop (cake mashed up with buttercream to make a dough) inside and the fish was vanilla cake.
Sophie said: “I make them look realistic by having the real item on hand to copy as closely as possible.
“I like to just have a go, try different tools and techniques and see what works for me.”
Other people, including bakers, have taken to comment section on TikTok (@thehappybakeco ) to praise Sophie’s incredible decorating skills.
One user wrote: “Amazing!! You’re so clever.”
Lori said: “That’s Amazing!! Wow!!”
“I need to learn to bake like this,” said Bonita.
“Wow, your so good,” said Jessica.
