An American living in the UK has been “forced” to apologise to Brits after eating an iconic Christmas treat wrong.

Russell Valentin recently moved to London from the Windy City.

While here, the content creator has tried and tested many UK staple food and drink items – with people online dubbing him an ‘honorary Brit’.

However, his latest review has seen him stripped of the title and the 31-year-old has been ‘forced’ to apologise to the UK public, reports What’s The Jam.

And it’s all because of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, in which the full saga has racked up almost 3.5m views collectively.

In the first clip, which has scored over 87,000 likes, he tucks into the chocolate snack – in the entirely wrong way.

“Time to try more weird British food,” he said.

“Apparently these things are an absolute Christmas classic here in the UK.”

Russell asks if the chocolate orange would count as “one of [a] five a day” as he giggles at the spherical sweet treat.

And then he does the most sacrilegious act as he tucks into the Terry’s Chocolate Orange whole.

He said: “Kinda crumbly.

“I wish it could stay together a bit better – it’s kind of a mess.”

He rates it a seven out of 10.

His reasoning for the score? It’s too messy to eat.

Users have flocked to the comment to share their thoughts – and disgust.

“We knew what was coming and we still didn’t look away. Do we need to do a tutorial???” the official account of Terry’s Chocolate said.

Catherine added: “My flabbers are ghasted! The hell did you do to that Terry’s Chocolate Orange?”

“PRISON! STRAIGHT TO PRISON,” another person commented.

Mark said: “Noooo ! Tap it. Unwrap it. Then eat individual segments slowly.”

“When you bit into that my soul let my body,” Gail added.

In another clip, titled: “Do NOT upset the British,” which racked up over 49,000 views, he reacts to comments from the angry English.

“You guys didn’t hold back,” he said.

Due to the backlash received, he was “forced” to issue an apology.

He asked for a second chance, with over 44,000 likes on the video.

But it wasn’t your typical “sorry”.

Instead, Russell reveals a selection of Terry’s Chocolate products and flavours to try.

First up is the milk chocolate.

He said: “For some weird reason, a bunch of the comments from the video told me to open this by whacking it on something hard.”

Although he smacks it on his head, he tries to dig in whole once again – before tucking in segment-by-segment.

Russell doesn’t rate the other flavours as highly as the original orange; except the dark variety and Toffee Crunch.

Users have flocked to the comments with their forgiveness.

“Thank god I can tell the police it doesn’t matter anymore,” Lex said.

Julia added: “Thank goodness you are eating it correctly. I just could not cope with your last post.”
