Spooky footage appears to show a dog “shape-shifting” into a man.
The spine-chilling scene was caught by a restaurant’s security camera.
The video shows what looks like a stray canine running across a deserted street in the dark.

It then slows down and appears to grow in size as it approaches a bush at a T-junction.
Moments later, the animal emerges from the bush – hunched over and standing on two legs.
It straightens its back and strolls down the street, now looking like a human and no longer a dog.
The strange scenes were filmed in Alcones in Ovalles Commune north of Santiago, Chile.
While the timestamp on the video says October 2022, the clip went viral earlier this month (August 2024).

Local media and social media users believe the creature could be a nagual.
A nagual is a personal guardian spirit that some Mesoamerican Indians believe resides in certain animals, such as deer, jaguars or birds.
In some regions, the nagual is an animal that certain powerful individuals can transform into in order to carry out malevolent acts.

However, other netizens are sceptical as to the true nature of the dog-human, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Jorge said: “The dog woke up the drunk guy who was passed out in the bushes.”
Miriam asked: “Why is it always the crappiest cameras that ‘record’ these events?”
Juan added: “The video looks like it’s AI because the pixels are really unusual.”
Sceptical of the nagual claim, a fourth person said: “How does it come out dressed?”
A fifth person believed he’d cracked the mystery.
He said: “You can clearly see that the man is carrying the dog in his arms.
“The dog runs toward him and he’s crouched near a dark spot that the camera can’t capture.
“Then he stands up with the dog and walks away.”
