A man has revealed how he found a hidden radio that receives messages from the future – and says there will be no internet and fewer people.

It was a sunny day in April when Luca decided to go for a walk in his local park.

He listened to the sounds of birds chirping and trees swaying in the breeze – but there was another noise that caught his attention.

Trapped in the hollow of a tree was a radio making a static sound effect.

Luca, aged 21, picked up the device and took it home.

He forgot all about it, until a few weeks later, when it began picking up a frequency.

And the messages coming through were all from the future – specifically the year 2126.

In a clip, racking up two million views and over 196,000 likes, he reveals what we’ve got in store.

“I have wondered for a long time why I am hearing these transmissions,” the musician told What’s The Jam.

“I wonder if it’s a warning or a threat.

“Maybe the radio was placed intentionally by my future self.

“I’m an optimist, though, and taking the messages as a sign of hope as the future seems quite peaceful.

“Even though it’s going to take a lot of destruction before we get there.”

Luca says the device was clean when he found it, despite a few dents, making him believe it was left there just a few days beforehand.

It took a few weeks until the messages came through.

He said: “I began picking out certain words and phrases.

“I thought I was imagining things at first, but there was definitely speech and music coming from it.

“My roommates say they couldn’t hear anything.

“But I could.

“It turns on by itself at seemingly random times, mostly in warm weather.

“Often, there’s long intervals in between.

“To get good data, I usually spend a whole day sitting nearby waiting to hear something.

“Most of the time, it’s just static.

“When I’m lucky, though, I get up to 30 seconds of listening time.”

Luca claims that whenever he’s tried to record the voices, the sound doesn’t come through when listening back.

He said: “I have many theories about why this is happening, such as the radio being retrofitted with future technology that can’t be picked up with modern recording devices.

“For now, I’ve made some recreations of broadcasts by asking my friends to voice act based on transcriptions I’ve written.

“But on the radio, they have different accents and speak very quickly, so it can be difficult to understand at times.”

Luca says the radio often points to the ‘historical eras’ of 2080 or 2090.

Aside from that, there are 10 key predictions he’s walked away with.

In the clip, he notes that he’s ‘most sure’ these will happen since they’re repeated often.

He said: “It doesn’t seem like the internet still exists or has existed for many years.

“My best guess, based on references to historical events that I’ve heard, is that it ceased to exist around the year 2050, maybe more around 2060.

“But it’s been several decades.”

He also notes, in more positive news, that climate change seems to have stopped – or reversed.

However, in 2080 and 2090, the world enters a very dark time.

He said: “It certainly was related to natural disaster or violence.

“Potentially a World War – I’m not sure.

“I haven’t heard as many references to political violence – more loss of life and loss of land.”

Due to the lack of internet, radio has become more important and there’s a massive amount of stations; even as far as specific to each residential street.

Other predictions include commercial space travel – mostly to find resources – and that the sky is no longer blue; it’s white.

Luca, who is based in the Northeast US, said: “I’ve heard older people, middle aged people, refer to sort of feeling nostalgic for a blue sky.

“Or even an orange sky, such as a sunset or sunrise.

“People’s relationship to money seems to have changed significantly, too.

“The way that people offer goods and services is not always in exchange for money.

“There’s more bartering.

“I’m not even sure if people still really use money.

“It seems like a secondary option.”

Worryingly, there’s fewer people – with a scientist mentioning that the population of Earth was just over five billion.

And, due to this, there’s a lot of abandoned areas, with references to ‘skeleton cities’ that have now been reclaimed by nature.

Finally, the music people listen to is short and electronic sounding; more so dance music with nonsense lyrics with strange instrument choices.

Users have flocked to the comments, with some people sharing their own experiences of futuristic radio broadcasts.

“My old Sony boom box does weird waves and it says 2076,” Stevie said.

Misty added: “Interesting, since the time traveller talked about the great blackout of 2050.”

“I could be alive for the birth and death of the world wide web,” another user commented.

Someone else said: “What if they shut down the internet cuz AI got outta pocket.” [sic]

“Yall we got 24-34 more years on the internet we gotta lock in,” another person added. [sic]

Luca added: “It makes me sort of excited, in a way, to know that as an older adult, I will be free of screen addiction and more in touch with the real world.

“I do fear the apparent trouble it will take to get us there – but when has there ever been progress without struggle?”
