A psychic medium has revealed the four superstitious things you must avoid on Friday 13th.

Chloe Smith claims that spirits use her body as a channel and that there are ghosts and angels around us every day.

The 27-year-old medium and psychic helps people with the grieving process, as well as life challenges.

Now, with Friday the 13th in full swing, she’s revealing the four superstitious acts to avoid to steer clear of any bad luck.

“Don’t break a mirror and keep yourself away from glass,” Chloe, from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, told What’s The Jam.

“This can bring you years of bad luck.

“Stay away from black cats. Rumour has it if a black cat crosses your path, it’s bad luck.

“A common saying is: ‘Don’t put new shoes on a table, as this could risk the loss of a family member.

“The final thing to watch out for is spiders.

“According to superstitions, don’t kill that spider in your bathroom, it’s extremely unlucky.”

Chloe, who previously claimed that her five-year-old daughter is psychic, says that there are ways to protect yourself.

The mum-of-three advises waking up on the right side of the bed, wearing the colour red, hanging up a horseshoe – or picking a penny off the floor.

Despite Friday the 13th being a notorious harbinger of bad luck for many people, it can actually be a great day for some.

Chloe has stated that the number 13 actually holds a spiritual meaning of love, compassion, and can be great for manifesting change.

She added: “Personally to me, I find it lucky.

“The lucky side can be that you find love again and change in your life.

“After years of tradition and people speaking of this date, it can give you a feeling in your stomach to just be aware.

“You might find yourself walking on eggshells as soon as you wake up on Friday morning.”

Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition, and comes around at least once a year but can occur up to three times per year.

It is thought that it originated in the 19th century, however there are various stories on how this date and number became dreaded.

In Christianity, Judas, who betrayed Jesus, is thought to have been the 13th guest to sit down to the Last Supper.

Norse mythology notes that the god, Loki, was the 13th to arrive at a feast in Valhalla, where he tricked another attendee into killing the god Baldur.
