A horrifying ‘mermaid mummy’ with sharp teeth and a tail fin has been found in an old house.
The mummified monster will go up for sale at an antiques market.
It has rows of razor-sharp teeth, giant hands, and a ‘mermaid’s tail’.

It has been described as a ‘kappa’, a mythical water demon found in Japanese folklore.
They are said to inhabit the ponds and rivers of Japan, dragging people and livestock into the water to drown them.
They later became better known as small, mischievous beings with green, scaly skin.
Kappas are considered one of three major ‘Yōkai’, a class of supernatural entities in Japanese folklore.
The mummified kappa will go on display at the Yonezawa City Citizens’ Gallery in the city of Yonezawa, Japan.

It will be showcased at the Oshu Rare Treasures Market being held at the gallery on 28 and 29 March.
The mummy is even available to buy.
There are only around 10 kappa and mermaid mummies confirmed in Japan and bids are expected to be high.

Event organiser Takeyuki Kimura said the skeletal shape-shifter was found in an old house in Fukushima.
He said it’s expected to fetch around £11,755 (JPY 2.5 million).
It drew a lot of attention after images went viral online with over 120,000 views, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local asked: “Is it a water goblin or a mermaid?”
“Isn’t there a Chupacabra?” added another.
A third said: “Back in the day, mummies were made for Buddhist teachings or to attract visitors to temples.”
“I want to go to see that kappa,” added a fourth.
