Josh Elkington said the egg was laid by one of his brown Brahma chickens called Julie.
The chance of an egg being round is thought to be about one-in-a-billion.

Josh runs a small holding near Bugle, near St Austell in Cornwall.

He said: “”It was so unexpected and we laughed for hours over how small this egg was.
“A year ago we started with one rooster and three hens and every two weeks we would get another two and then it went to bi-monthly until we reached the 19th hen.

“We have a range of hybrid and lightweight breeds and we have an abundance of eggs.
“We saw the perfectly round egg one morning and were in fits of laughter.

“No one knew what to do with it being so small.
“But after research we’ve seen it’s a one-in-a-billion event.”

“We’re not sure.
“We would potentially look at selling it,” he said.
“I tried contacting a couple of auction houses but they’re unsure of what the possible outcome would be.
It comes after a round egg sold at Bearnes Hampton Littlewood Auctioneers in Exeter, Devon for £420 in March.
It was found by farm worker Ali Greene who has seen tens of thousands of regular ones in her job.
