Vincent Kompany’s old Manchester City shirt has sold for a whopping £715 even though it’s covered in mud.

The now Burnley gaffer’s former jersey was part of a huge collection of football memorabilia that went up under the hammer.

The shirt was worn by the ex-City captain on the 13 of November 2010, in a 1-0 win against Birmingham City.

The Premier League shirt has a poppy on it to support The Royal British Legion for Remembrance.

But it still has brown marks on the back near and on his number ‘4’.

Ewbank’s Auctioneers, in Woking, Surrey auctioned the shirt as part of a collection that included kits from the last fifty years.

This list included two more grubby kits with one of Wayne Bridge’s shirts – also a former City player.

The “unwashed” shirt sold for £84.50 and was worn in the preseason of the 2010-2011 season.

A 2014-2015 Connor Wickham Sunderland shirt also went up for auction, fetching £123.50 – again despite being dirty.

Despite now being one of TV’s favourite football pundits on Sky Sports, Micah Richards’ former City shirt went unsold at the auction.

Estimated to go for around £250 the Champions League edition shirt from the 2012-2013 season was not picked up.

The former England international wore the shirt during a 3-1 loss to Ajax on the 24 October 2012.

England icon and goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton’s old shirts fetched a pretty penny.

The match-worn England kit from the late 70s was sold for an astonishing £1,170.

Another shirt that Shilton wore during his time with the national team fetched £780 at auction.

This was a blue shirt that the legend would wear from 1981 to 1983.
