A footy fan has gone viral on TikTok after sharing what she dubbed to be “diva” behaviour by stewards during the Everton vs Tottenham game.
The clip has gathered over 1.7 million views on TikTok.
The event took place on Sunday (19 January) with kick off at 2pm.
Everton took home a 3-2 win, thanks to strikes from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye as well as an Archie Gray’s own goal, as reported by What’s The Jam.
But one football-goer, named Lois, was more intrigued by something happening on the side of the pitch.
While trying to keep her eyes on the game, she couldn’t help but notice the stewards.
In the clip, they can be seen seemingly relaxing on the grass in a line with their feet pushed up against the stand.
“At my first footy match who are these divas,” Lois said in the caption of the post, which has gained 226,700 likes and 500 comments.
Although some novice football-goers might think this is odd behaviour, it is actually quite commonplace.
Stewards will lie on the grass to not be in the way for people watching.
But others, like Lois, have a different opinion.
Niamh added: “Toffee divas serve.”
Isabella commented: “No I am screaming.”
One user said: “Why do I low-key want their job.”
Ethon joked: “OH MERRY MEN!”
Tracy commented: “Never seen them do this before.”
Another user said: “Cheerleaders.”
Someone else joked: “This is my level of skill.”
“They’re making sure no one runs on the pitch and are looking out for fan safety etc,” explained someone else.
