Newcastle fans have cashed in on former cup final football shirts as the Magpies bid to win their first trophy for 70 years.
The five jerseys were auctioned yesterday (5 Mar) and sold for £17,000.
The most valuable was the black and white number 10 worn by match winner George Robledo in the FA Cup final in 1952 which went for £7,000.

Newcastle won the game beating Arsenal with a goal scored by Robledo.
Robert Clark’s black and white long-sleeved shirt from the 1927-28 season sold for £6,000.

The shirt bearing the inscription League Champions Division 1 1926-27 came with a letter from the player’s grandson.
A short-sleeved black and white number 4 shirt issued to Stewart Barrowclough for the 1976 League Cup Final also was snapped up for £2,600.

Newcastle lost the match to Manchester City.

A signed yellow and blue number 10 long-sleeved shirt issued to Terry McDermott for the 1982-83 season also went for £1,000.

While a maroon and blue number 14 short-sleeved shirt issued to Alexander Isak for the current season sold for £650.

All the shirts were sold by Graham Budd Auctions in Wellingborough, Northants.

A spokesman said: “Newcastle is and always has been one of our favourite cities.
“It is, without a doubt, one of the friendliest places you can venture, especially if a few samples of the local brew and hospitality is on the menu!
“You don’t have to be sitting comfortably in a bar such as the Bridge or Crown Posanda before you get into a conversation about football.
“The North East has always been a football mad place.
“Newcastle is very much the epitome of a one club town – up there, you are either Toon or nothing, and I believe that it breeds a particularly passionate supporter. “
Newcastle United face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday March 16 as reported by What’s The Jam.
They last one a major domestic trophy – the FA Cup – in 1955.
