Aldi shoppers are scrambling to get their hands on a limited-edition football shirt launched by the supermarket – and it’s sponsored by one of its best-loved products.
The budget retailer surprised fans by unveiling its own football kit, complete with sponsorship from its cult-favourite Nordpak butter range.
Aldi revealed the shirt in a video posted on Instagram, teasing it as “this summer’s hottest kit launch”.

In the caption, the supermarket announced shoppers can win their own Aldi FC shirt by following Aldi UK on Instagram, liking and saving the post, tagging who they would bring to the next kick-off and commenting with their shirt size.
The competition runs until July 3, with the retailer directing fans to its website for full terms and conditions, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Unsurprisingly, the giveaway quickly attracted hundreds of comments from eager shoppers desperate to get their hands on the unusual football top.
One person joked: “Can’t wait to play Tesco and Asda away.”
Another person declared: “We love you Aldi we do, we love you Aldi we do, ohhhhh ALDI WE LOVE YOU.”

The limited-edition shirts are not available in stores and can only be won through Aldi’s social media channels.
The retailer said only a small number have been produced, making them likely collectors’ items for Aldi superfans.
The unusual sponsorship deal pays tribute to Nordpak, Aldi’s own-brand butter that has developed a loyal following among shoppers.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “With the nation gripped by football fever, we wanted to create something fun for our customers.
“Sponsored by our popular Nordpak butter, these limited-edition shirts are a playful celebration of one of Aldi’s most-loved products, and we can’t wait to see fans sporting them throughout the tournament.”
The giveaway launched on Sunday and Aldi has urged football fans to act quickly for a chance to win one.
Given the reaction online, competition is likely to be fierce.
After all, not many football shirts come sponsored by butter.
