A video has captured the sweet moment a Tesco employee got down on one knee at the self-service checkouts.
Sandra Lee, 47, was shopping with her partner Michael Ward, 41, when he decided to pop the question in the innocuous spot.
Tesco employee Michael can be seen helping her scan a box of chocolates and several bouquets of flowers – which Sandra believed were being pictured for a promotional ad in the store.

But suddenly, Michael drops down on one knee and asks a visibly shocked Sandra to marry him.
While his bride-to-be loved the quirky choice of proposal, it has divided TikTok users after it went viral on the app, garnering three million views.
Not everyone found the proposal to be suitably romantic – but luckily, Sandra loved it.
“I was shocked and totally taken by surprise,” the gym worker, from Co. Galway, Ireland told What’s The Jam.
“When it sank in, I was thrilled.

“He picked Tesco so I wouldn’t be suspicious of anything.”
As Michael, who works at the Oughterard branch, proposes, Sandra can be seen stunned, even needing to take a moment to lean back and sit on the checkout counter as she takes in the news.
She grins as she accepts the ring, asking: “Is this real? Oh my god!”

Eventually, she accepts, and the two share a sweet embrace in front of the tills.
The adorable clip has gone viral online – where some users found it a little less than romantic.
One person joked: “Can’t imagine anything more romantic than a proposal and a meal deal.”
“I’d say no to such a proposal even if I loved that person,” said another critic.
Someone else added: “I just want to know what other locations he considered that lost to this.”
“Why Tesco?” another viewer wondered.
“Did he use his club card to get the ring?” quipped someone else.
But other users defended the sweet proposal.
One person said: “It’s funny everyone judging but you seriously have no idea if this proposal means something to them.”
“So romantic,” another viewer commented.
Someone else said: “Absolute class.”
Sandra said of the viral response: “I was incredibly happy with the proposal and the reception it has gotten was not expected at all.
“It took 46 years to meet my forever person, so my advice would be never give up on love – what’s for you won’t go past you.”
