A mum of three has revealed her traumatic birthing ordeal after delivering a newborn in a supermarket-disabled toilet.
Lauren Ewings started her Monday as usual; dropping off her son, Elijah, six, at school, before heading to Tesco to pick up some paracetamol and cat food – but there was a surprise waiting around the corner.
As the stay-at-home mum, 27, who was four weeks away from her due date at the time, walked through the supermarket doors, her waters broke.
She rushed to the disabled toilets to clean herself up and quickly realised her baby was swiftly on its way – and she was giving birth right there and then.

“I was quite overwhelmed – I really didn’t expect to be giving birth in Tescos,” Lauren, who is also mum to Ezra, four, from Tiverton, told What’sTheJam.com.

“I woke up that morning thinking I was just having Braxton Hicks contractions so I took paracetamol and the pain went away.
“I took my eldest to school and the pain got a little bit worse but I wasn’t concerned.
“I went to Tesco’s and, as I was about to walk through the door, my water broke.”

Lauren called her partner, who initially thought she was joking, and then phoned her mum, who called an ambulance.
She said: “My mum was freaking out.
“My two previous births had been c-sections so it was quite overwhelming.

“Apparently, I was very calm but looking back I think it was just shock.”
Luckily, a staff member came to the rescue and put up a privacy screen – and 30 minutes later, Lauren gave birth to little Edward, weighing only six lbs.

She added: “The first aider, Lisa, was with me for about five minutes before he started crowning, so I ended up delivering him myself right there.
“A few minutes later, I delivered my placenta and 15 minutes after that the paramedics arrived.”
