A woman has revealed how her upper lip took centre stage after her date mistook the smell of her burnt moustache for bad breath.
Thirty-two-year-old Molly Kornfeld took to TikTok (@molly_kornfeld) to share her horror dating story, where it has gone viral with over 93,000 views.
In the video, the executive assistant and comedian shares how, before her date, she had used a hair removal cream but it had left an unfortunate smell.
And it became so much of an issue on the date that Molly had to use mouthwash.

“Like the smell isn’t great but it’s not hurting anyone, just suck it up,” Molly from New York, US, told What’s The Jam.
“At first I was a little embarrassed, but I quickly got over it.
“I’ve always been self-conscious about my facial hair, so if the way I remove it bothers you, that’s on you.”
Molly opens the clip by saying: “So, being a woman of Italian and Jewish decent, I’m like one of the hairiest b*****s I know.”

She then goes on to describe the situation with her date.
She said: “I have always taken great care with my body/facial hair and had stopped even noticing the weird smell.
“For some reason, I was more insecure about the idea of wandering around with stinky breath than a funky smelling upper lip.

“That’s just the price you pay for a smooth face!”
The man that Molly was dating at the time was actually her on-and-off boyfriend, but up until that point, her use of hair removal cream hadn’t been an issue.
She said: “I was confused at first because we had been together for a while, and this was not typical behaviour.
“I thought maybe he had something weighing on him that he didn’t know how to tell me.
“Growing up, I was always so insecure about how hairy I was.
“I remember thinking I had to be hairless to be attractive.”
Stopping to realise that the smell in question was her upper lip, Molly shrugged it off.
She said: “Nothing I can do about that.
“I date men, so when I’m with someone for the first time, I always try to be clean shaven to make a good impression because I feel that is the norm that I grew up with.
“I’ve spoken to men who definitely prefer it but I’ve also dated guys who don’t mind my body hair.
“I think more men should get on board, considering there isn’t a ton of pressure on them to groom their body hair.
“It’s a very annoying double standard.”
Sharing her dating fail to TikTok, users have flocked to the comment section to show their support.
One user said: “Let’s just say that I won’t turn you away or complain.”
“Some dudes just done have what it takes to be with a real women,” added Harry.
“You can’t get to the treasure if you don’t go through the forest,” said another user.
Jim said: “Love this! Rubber smell no problem!”
“Italian and Greek! I have dark hair but pale skin. European waxing is my dear friend,” added another user.
Molly has been left shocked at the positive response, especially from men professing their love for female body hair.
She added: “A bunch of men commented that they love body hair and the hairier the better!
“Not only don’t they mind hairy women, they prefer it – I truly had NO idea this was such a popular opinion.
“Of course there were a few guys who were disgusted, but it was the minority.
“In terms of body hair, I say if you want to flaunt it, go ahead!
“But if you want to groom/shave/wax because that’s your preference, that is also great!
“It’s your body – do what you want.”
