A beach hut has gone on the market for just shy of half a million pounds – but it doesn’t even have a toilet.

The wooden cabin enjoys a prime location on the coast in Mudeford Sandbank in Christchurch, Dorset.

The rustic mini home sleeps up to eight – though the listing implies this will be best suited for family or close friends due to the close quarters.

Stepping inside, the cramped cabin has a double bed and single bed ready for overnight use.

A tiny but neat kitchen is fitted with an oven, stove, kettle, sink and cupboards. The fridge isn’t seen in the pictures but is described in the listing.

Meanwhile, a small ‘upstairs’ area has another double bed – currently a mattress on the floor.

Hut number 297 – which features on What’s The Jam – is described as “fully fitted and furnished” despite the lack of facilities, and is available for £440,000 through BeachHutsForHire.co.uk.

While the interior itself is pretty basic, location really does seem to be everything here.

The hut faces the beach and sea and offers stunning views, alongside 345 neighbouring cabins.

The listing says it has solar power, a water tank with pump, hot water heater, a full-size gas cooker, a refrigerator, TV and radio, double glazing, and is fully insulated.

According to the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Mudeford Sandbank Beach Hut Handbook, overnight use of the hut is not permitted from November to February – meaning it can only be used for eight months of the year.

The cabin was previously on the market back in 2022 for the same price.
