A man has discovered an abandoned home where the owners appear to have left in a hurry – leaving behind a puzzle on the table and all of their furniture.
Leland Kent has been interested in urban exploration for as long as he can remember, having first begun visiting deserted sites back in 2016.
He showcases these obscure, historic, and forgotten places online, having recently hit the headlines after stumbling upon a vintage car graveyard.
As for this latest 4,000 sq ft home, Leland believes it was built in 1900 and has been abandoned for more than five decades.

“According to the neighbours, this stunning Queen Anne-style home has been vacant for more than 50 years,” the explorer, from Florida, US, told What’sTheJam.co.uk.
“Several years ago, hurricane-force winds blew over one of the chimneys, causing it to crash through the wraparound porch and narrowly miss the roof.
“Property records indicate it is currently owned by a Florida couple.
“Originally, they planned to renovate the house one room at a time as their residence.

“However, the couple barely completed one parlour room before they decided they no longer wanted to live in the home.
“Now it sits still.”
In a picture that captures the front of the property, the house can be seen with its windows boarded up and the garden completely overgrown with weeds.

Walking into the home, the hallway has multiple chairs lining the walls, as well as a rug rolled up in the corner.
Further on, there is the sitting room with the furniture draped in cloths and a complete puzzle on the coffee table – as if someone had just finished the last piece and then decided to leave forever.
There is also a beautiful, grand piano sat gathering dust.
The staircase that leads to the second floor is covered in dust, mud, and bits of wood that have fallen from the ceiling and banister.
Upstairs, all the bedrooms appear empty barring two; one has a dress hanging from a door, and in another, a children’s toy is placed on the fireplace.
The bathroom still has its bathtub and toilet but debris from the ceiling covers the floor.
Outside, Leland also found an old truck, which seems to have not been used for plenty of years.
