A unique Airbnb is offering the chance for people to take a kip in a sleeping bag on a raft in the middle of a lake.
The raft is moored for guests to get aboard – but can then be released, making you the captain of the ‘ship’.
Not to worry, you won’t float around in the night… so long as you remember to drop the anchor before you drift off to sleep.
The £64 a night stay also includes a tent, as well as pans for cooking, and a chemical toilet with TP.

But you’ll have to bring your own camping gear including sleeping bags, mats and provisions.
“I constructed the rafts myself,” Kees Meester, 63, told What’s The Jam.

“The size of one raft is 2.5m by 7.4m.
“The total investment was about €3000 (£2,500) per raft.

“[I used] sustainable wood, a small outboard motor, a blowup tent, some cases, camping toilet, etc.”
Despite only providing the basics, the raft is proving extremely popular with daredevil travellers – with guests having to book months in advance.

He said: “Two or maybe three nights on the raft is enough for a complete reset of your body and soul.

“I think that the reason for the numerous positive reviews is that you’re camping in the wild, it’s completely calm and peaceful.
“Handling the raft looks very difficult because of its size, but it isn’t.
“When the guests realize they can handle it, they are amazed they can do it.”
Located in Waarland, Netherlands, the small lake lies only a minute’s walk away from the village of Oudkarspel, which offers plenty of local amenities or transport links to explore more of the country.
The tent is available to rent for £64 a night through Airbnb, with a minimum of a two-night stay.
The listing describes the experience as “back-to-basic”.

The listing reads: “If you want to rest, stay on the raft, grab a book and fall back into your own world!
“If you want to swim, go ahead.
“If you’re tired, crawl into your sleeping bag and let yourself be put to sleep, another day tomorrow!”
And the reviews speak volumes.
