A hunting Arctic wolf and a lounging chimpanzee.

And a leopard feeding beside rubbish.

These are the winning shots from the Nature inFocus 2025 Awards.

Over 1,250 photographers from more than 38 countries submitted a whopping 16,000 images.

Now the awards for this year’s entrants have been handed out, with the competition providing breathtaking results.

Amit Eshel was crowned the winner of the Animal Behaviour category.

The snapper captured a dramatic Arctic wolf–muskox encounter.

The breathtaking display took place on Ellesmere Island, Canada, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The Animal Portraits title was handed to Federica Cordero, who spotted a rather chilled-out Chimpanzee in the wild.

The relaxed animal was spotted lounging on a twisted vine.

Federica captured the image deep inside the forests of Uganda.

A thought-provoking image named the ‘Edge of Two Worlds’ won the Ramki Sreenivasan Conservation Photography Award.

The picture taken by Rajat Chordia and Vidhan Dwivedi shows a leopard eating a cow carcass beside garbage and fast-moving traffic.

The scene from Udaipur, Rajasthan, serves as an upsetting reminder of how these animals are forced to adapt near human settlements.

Rohit Varma, co-founder of Nature inFocus, said: “What began as a national platform has evolved into a diverse international community of photographers.

“Every year, the submissions reveal fresh perspectives on the natural world and shed light on urgent conservation challenges.

“The growing number of participants and the expanding geographical reach reflect just how global this platform has become.”
