They used a mallet to make a hole in the wall for the pooch to escape on Monday (13 May), as reported by What’s the Jam.
Faye spent an uncomfortable two hours trapped behind the wall at the family’s home in Garden Grove near Los Angeles, California, US.
A Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson said: “Faye is having a better day today thanks to the firefighters who rescued her yesterday.
“After crawling into the wall through a small plumbing access door, getting stuck under the bathtub for two hours, and not giving in to her family coaxing her out, this pup was pretty happy to see the firefighters’ friendly faces and reunite with loved ones.”
The spokesperson added: “And, according to the family, Faye is probably already planning her next bit of mischief.
“Who knows, maybe we’ll see her again soon.”
One local joked: “I called the dog, she said ‘who in the world put that wall in the wrong place’?”
Megan commented: “She’s like, ‘I wasn’t expecting an audience, this better not wind up on the internet’.”
Shannon said: “She is one lucky pup. Well, done.”
