A rescue dog believed to have Britain’s longest eyelashes is searching for a loving forever home after being saved from a heartbreaking start in life.
Three-year-old schnauzer Lady has been turning heads thanks to her stunning lashes, which make her look as though she’s just stepped out of a beauty salon.
But behind the glamorous appearance lies a much sadder story.

When Lady was rescued in April, her coat was severely matted and she needed an urgent makeover.
Since then, the adorable pooch has been neutered and undergone much-needed dental treatment as she begins a new chapter, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Now, the staff hopes the lash-fluttering pup can finally find the happy ending she deserves.
Kate McCulloch, of RSPCA Northamptonshire, said: “Lady has been spending some time in a wonderful foster home where she’s started to come out of her shell.
“She’s a lovely-natured dog but can be wary of new experiences and finds loud noises and busy environments overwhelming so we’d like to find owners who can be patient and create a home where she’ll feel safe and secure.

“When new people come into the home – particularly men – she can become worried, so we feel a calm home with few visitors would be best for her.
“She’ll need gradual, positive experiences of meeting new people to help her feel safe and secure.”
Despite her difficult past, Lady has blossomed into an affectionate companion with those she knows and trusts.

Kate said: “With those she knows and trusts, Lady is incredibly affectionate.
“She loves to cuddle day and night, both on the sofa and in bed and is such an affectionate girl.
“Lady is her happiest and most relaxed in the company of her favourite humans.
“She’s a delightful little character and we’ve had a lot of interest in her already so we’re fairly certain we’ll find her the paw-fect home of her own.”
The clever canine enjoys routine, loves going for walks and travels well in the car.
She’s also discovering the joys of playtime after developing a particular fondness for squeaky balls.
Kate added: “Lady is learning how to play with toys and loves a squeaky ball.
“She’s even started to enjoy ‘zoomies’ in the garden, which is so lovely to see.
“It’ll be so wonderful to see her settle into a loving new home – she really deserves a happy ever after.
“And we’re sure it won’t take much fluttering of those eyelashes to land herself a wonderful new home.”
Lady can still find meeting other dogs a little worrying and would benefit from positive socialisation.
She also has a Grade One heart murmur, which currently requires no treatment but may need monitoring in the future.
The schnauzer has also responded well to treatment for ear infections.
Staff believes she would be happiest in an adult-only household where she can be the only pet and receive all the love and attention she deserves.
