An owner has been left delighted after his cat, that was missing for a decade, reappeared.
Sam Hope, 53, adopted his moggy Smokey when he was just one, but the cat was nowhere to be seen a mere six months later.
The cat, from Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire, was sadly missing for a long ten years.

But after years of dead ends and loose hope, the feline miraculously returned after a decade, thanks to a microchip.
A woman in Sam’s local area found Smokey and subsequently took him to the vet.
And, thanks to Petlog, Sam’s details flashed up, allowing Smokey to be reunited with his beloved owner once more.
“I was so sad when I lost him,” Sam told What’s the Jam.
“When I received the call, I was overjoyed to know he was okay.

“I’d just started thinking about getting another cat after my other cats passed away, so this feels like it was meant to be.”
Now back home in his safe space, Smokey is slowly getting used to life with Sam again.
Sam explained: “He sleeps a lot and is still very shy, but I’m confident that being just the two of us will help him come out of his shell.

“He deserves to feel secure and loved.
“He’s doing okay.”
Petlog, the database that allowed the pair to be reunited comes into action when a microchip is scanned.
Bill Lambert, a spokesperson for Petlog added: “We are delighted that Smokey has been reunited with Sam after so many years. “
