A plucked parrot left experts scratching their heads but the featherless bird has plenty to squawk about.
Steve the three-year-old green parrotlet has undergone a number of tests after being taken in by a rescue centre but appears to be in good health.
The chatty bird is now being cared for after his previous owners moved abroad and could not take him with them.

And staff say Steve is no shrinking violet when it comes to getting attention – he gets so excited when people stop for a chat that he literally quivers with happiness, as reported by What’s The Jam
A spokesperson for Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, Brentwood, Essex said: “He’s only been with us a few months.
“His previous owners were moving abroad and couldn’t take him with them.

“He’s three years old – and that’s all we know really.
“And all his test results have come back clear so we’re just giving him all the love, care and attention he needs and hopefully his feathers will continue to grow back.

“If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Steve, it’s that this little chap has a lot to say — and he gets very excited when someone stops for a chat.
“He literally quivers with happiness when he gets attention, so those little shakes you might have noticed in our last video are very much a Steve thing!
“Steve is kept in a lovely warm, tropical environment and is absolutely not cold.

“He has one of the warmest rooms at the sanctuary.
“We’ve also had Steve thoroughly tested for the bird-related illnesses and conditions that could cause feather loss, and he has tested negative for all of them.
“We believe his feather loss is most likely linked to the stress he experienced in his previous home, where he was kept in a tiny, barren cage that simply wasn’t suitable for him.
“His life looks very different now.
“He’s just a little chap who really, really loves a chat.”
