A cat owner has revealed how he’s built his pet cats a city out of wood, complete with an eight-foot skyscraper, catnip dispensary, and nightclub.
Nicholas McCuen, 27, previously hit headlines for making his cat Nikko a cat apartment that was the size of his spare bedroom.
But now he’s decided it was time for an upgrade, destroying the feline flats to unveil a whole light-up city for spoiled kitties Nikko and Leo.
Uploading a video of his creation to Instagram (@themccuenshow ), he gathered over 442,000 views, with users hailing his build as “a cat’s dream”.

“There are four buildings and six shops so far,” Nicholas told What’s The Jam.
“The city includes a town square grass area, a toy shop(Cats R Us), a burrito shop (Leos Purritos), a catnip dispensary (Purr Purr Pass), Starbucks, Target, and a nightclub (Night Cat).”
“Cats like to be higher up and that’s exactly why I added an 8-foot Skyscraper.
“The goal was to build something that will last, while also learning a new skill myself, woodworking.

“I built the cat city based on what people were commenting on my videos.
“I picked the ideas that I thought were the best while also being functional for the cats.”
Nicolas became a cat parent to Nikko the Savannah cat in 2020, always going the extra mile to care for his furry friend.

He has now spent a whopping 150 hours and nearly $2,000 constructing his cat city.
He said: “The catnip dispensary was one of my favourite shops in the entire city because it kind of plays of a Cannabis dispensary.
“I am still figuring out the best lighting options and plan on updating the lighting to motion-censored lights.
“It [is] tough turning off the lights as a full-sized human trying to get in and out of a small cat structure.
“The cats more than anything want to be outside, but it worries me letting them out because they don’t have much exposure and tend to panic when they go outside.
“I would like to build a Catio that can be used whenever the cats please.”
Users were quick to admire Nicholas’ handy work and rushed to show their support to the content creator, with the clip gaining over 39,100 likes and nearly 400 comments.
Chris said: “That’s creativity right there”
Another user added: “build me a room.”
Someone else commented: “The catnip shop is the best.”
Riley said: “OMG I need it and love it.”
Another user added: “Husband Goal.”
Zarosies said: “Wanna be you so badly tbh.”
Callie wrote: “This is the best thing ever omg”
Nicholas added: “The reaction has been pretty positive overall.
“Pet parents love their fur babies and I think we will see more people take on projects like this.
“I’ve received some negative feedback about how I need to “get a life” and “what a waste of time”, but I ignore the comments for the most part.”
