Two hangry seagulls were locked in a bizarre beak-to-beak tug-of-war over a fish – with neither willing to back down.
The battling birds clamped on to the same tasty prize and grappled furiously, each desperate to make off with the meal.
The feathery face-off dragged on as the stubborn pair refused to let go.

But despite their best efforts, it was impossible to tell who won after other gulls piled in and turned the showdown into total chaos.
The squabble unfolded in the picturesque seaside town of Looe, Cornwall.
Onlooker Gillian Taylor, from Brinklow, Warwickshire, watched the drama play out.
“I was in beautiful Looe, Cornwall, and saw this tug-of-war,” she told What’s The Jam.
“It went on for some time.

“Both gulls were extremely determined to win the fish.
“I am not sure which one started off with it and I am not sure if either of them ended up with it.
“I got confused when they were ambushed by others.

“It turned in to a frenzy.
“It was quite comical to watch.”
