But they needed the help of two other officers to save the third.
The little animal’s head remained stuck in the wall and they had to change its body position and pull out.
A San Francisco Animal Care and Control spokesperson said: “Officer Keefe and Officer in Training Borg got a call that the third baby was mostly out, only the head was stuck.
“Officer Keefe changed the baby’s body position and Officer in Training Borg pulled the tile piece out as far as possible.
“Together they got the baby raccoon free.”
The rescue took place at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the 18,064-capacity home arena of the Golden State Warriors of the NBA.
As well as staging concerts, the arena is home to the Golden State Valkyries of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
After rescuing the three kits, the animal control officers took them to the Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue in San Francisco for health checks, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “Can we adopt them?”
Layla added: “Omg, that poor baby! So grateful for the happy ending, thank you.”
Nikki remarked: “Thank you for rescuing these babies.”
