A considerate monkey was spotted turning off the water after enjoying a refreshing drink at a public tap.
The primate’s manners were highlighted by the local police as an example of good civic responsibility.
The clip showed two monkeys quenching their thirst from a running tap in the summer heat before one reaches up and shuts off the flow, preventing unnecessary wastage.

The well-mannered monkeys were filmed drinking from the tap in Uttarakhand State, India.
A police spokesperson said: “A wise act from the speechless ones.
“After quenching their thirst, they turned off the tap – this responsibility is a big lesson for every human being.
“When wild animals can understand the value of water, we must also become aware.
“Save water, secure the future.”
Many locals hailed the monkeys for displaying better civic responsibility than some people.
Deepak said: “This video suggests men aren’t evolved from monkeys, rather monkeys are evolved from men!”
Heena added: “Truly amazing, our leaders need to learn from this monkey!”
In Uttarakhand, the incident coincided with broader concerns over water stress in the country’s hotter months, where public wastage remains a common issue, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Environmental awareness campaigns frequently stress the importance of such habits, and this unlikely ambassador has provided a memorable example.
