A crafty hound sniffed out a Secret Santa surprise and scoffed it whole after helping herself to a present meant for someone else’s pooch.
Dachshund Penny, two, couldn’t resist the temptation and polished off dog treats that had been wrapped up and left under the family Christmas tree.
Her owners were out at work at the time but the sneaky snack attack was all caught on camera.

And instead of being cross, owner Jessica Sutherberry saw the funny side.
“My husband Shaun sent the video to me and I viewed it while I was in work,” the flight attendant from Runcorn, Cheshire, told, What’s The Jam.
“I found it hilarious.
“I couldn’t be mad at Penny because it’s too funny
“It was actually a gift bag I’d put together for a secret Santa in work.

“I’d put a few things in there but she sniffed out the dog treats and ate three of them.
“I had to re-buy them for my colleague.
“She ignored all the other presents.

“This has never happened before.
“We had a dachshund before Oenny and he never bothered with presents under the tree.
“This is Penny’s first Christmas with us since we rescued her in January.
“But it’s a learning curve.
“We now keep presents out of her reach.”
The mischievous mutt may have been on the naughty list but with a face like that, it’s no wonder she was quickly forgiven.
