A dog ‘with no eyes’ wearing a chain who was abandoned on the side of a road has won admirers and hearts online.
The dumped Cane Corso was reported to a local charity after a passerby noticed her lying at the side of a main road.
As soon as they received the information, the non-profit Hope for Paws hopped in their van and made their way to the highway.

On arriving, they found the dog nervous, frightened and weighed down with a heavy metal chain around her neck, as reported by What’s The Jam.
While trying to get up close to her, they also realised the pup had her eyes shut and was struggling to see.
So as not to spook her, the charity workers used spare netting from their van to surround her instead of a metal crate, as they didn’t want the noise to scare her.
They eventually managed to put a lead on her and took her back to their base in California, US.
Once there, they bathed her, fed her and gave her plenty of love.

And named her Delilah.
After a few days they took her to the vet, where they discovered she had an infection in both eyes and a foxtail lodged in one.
They removed the foxtail spike and treated her eyes with antibiotics.

And almost immediately, Delilah opened her eyes in relief.
Soon, they also found her an amazing foster home where she has made many new friends.
Her story has also been shared to Hope for Paws’ Instagram page, where she has captured hearts.
