Zoo goers claimed a standing black bear looks suspiciously like a person in costume.
Images show Bobby the Taiwanese black bear on his hind legs to greet visitors at his enclosure.
Standing completely upright, the bear strolls over to guests and even appearing to pose for snaps.
However, many locals joked that Bobby appears more like a worker in costume than a real black bear at Shoushan Zoo, located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

One said: “It walks so steady on two feet, must be a work student.”
Another added: “It stands like a human. Its height is around 6ft.”
“Shoushan Zoo is so outrageous, overworking students,” joked someone else.
Sunny remarked: “Stop pretending. Take off the costume.”

Charline commented: “Work students are really doing a good job.”
It was filmed yesterday (12 Feb).
A spokesperson for Shoushan Zoo denied it was a fake.

They said: “If a person did wear a bear costume, they would be lying down within minutes due to the heat.”
According to the zoo, Bobby sparked discussion back in 2016 when locals first started to joke that he was actually a human in costume.
However, they clarified that Taiwanese black bears can stand upright in the wild.
At the time, Kaohsiung mayor Chen Ju also confirmed that the animals at Shoushan Zoo are real and not students.
Similar accusations were directed at Hangzhou Zoo in China last August.
The zoo’s Malaysian sun bear was filmed greeting visitors while standing on its hind legs.
After zoo goers claimed it was a person dressed up, a spokesperson pointed out.
