The 39-year-old says the simple dish can also be bulked out with whatever extras you’ve got lying around.
“I think it’s a great base meal when you don’t have a lot of money or a lot of food in,” Elliot, from Preston, Lancashire, told What’s The Jam.

“You can add anything you want to it such as veg or meat or whatever you have in your cupboards or freezer.
“You may get some unusual recipes doing this but it will fill you up before payday.”
The budget-busting meal is made up of just two items – 23p spaghetti and a 47p tomato and herb pasta sauce.

In the viral clip, which racked up four million views and more than 128,000 likes, Elliot is seen boiling the pasta in salted water before draining it, adding the sauce and giving it a quick stir.
Split between two plates, it works out at just 35p per person.
Viewers were quick to weigh in with their own ideas in the comments.
