A rare two-foot animal has been spotted in a lake – and social media users are convinced it’s an alien.
The unique sea creature was spotted by student, Steph Brulot-Sawchyn, 22, and his brother while snorkelling.
Steph, who had never seen anything like this before, initially thought it was a jellyfish – but was quickly proven wrong.

He posted photos of the sighting in Clover Point Park, British Columbia, Canada, on Facebook, racking up over 1,000 likes.
“[It was] right at the surface, which is weird since it’s a deep sea creature,” Steph told What’s The Jam.
“It’s a giant siphonophore.”
Steph says that the animal had a dome-shaped head and also measured around two-feet long – but many can grow up to a whopping 130-feet in length.
While rarely fatal to humans, their stings can be painful.
