A “chonky” black bear has been caught on camera looking for a late night snack.
In a selection of videos caught by park CCTV, the bear can be seen scouring the grounds for food.
Black bears are known to be getting ready to go into hibernation around this time of year.

But this fella has more grub to find, as reported by What’s The Jam.
In one video he can be seen sat on the ground, sniffing the air and looking round, showing off his big belly.
In another clip, the bear sniffs the ground and rummages his head through some grass.
In a third video, he can finally be seen scoffing something off the floor.
The black bear is impressively huge.

Sizes for a male bear can range from 59kg to 300kg.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife captured the clips on the evening of 17 October before sharing them to its social media.
In a thread, staff captioned the clips: “We thought we had seen really fat Durango bears before.

“But this one takes the cake. It also probably ate the cake. Every cake.
“When he sits, how does he not just roll over?
“Genuinely need to know how much more this black bear thinks he needs to eat before finding a den this year?
“He’s a thicc boi!”
The thread has gathered over 232,000 views, 5,000 likes and over 100 comments.
Ellen wrote: “He CHONKY.”

According to research, black bears hibernate each winter from late October or early November until spring; emerging in late April or early May.
This guy is clearly filling himself up as much as he can, until he has to go to bed.
