A monkey has gone viral for stealing a child’s homework.

The hilarious moment was captured on camera by Janeth, whose son is in primary school.

The animal thief stole the assignment and headed into the garden to gobble it up.

Janeth, from Sinaloa, Mexico filmed the funny incident to provide it as proof to her child’s teacher.

The primate belongs to the mum’s neighbours.

The clip was later shared on TikTok (@jenioronaq ), where it has over 276,000 views, as well as 32,000 likes.

In the video, a small monkey can be seen sitting on a wall, while munching at a small, yellow workbook.

The animal, who appears to be wearing a denim jacket, continues to open up the book and nibble at its pages.

“For my child’s teacher,” Janeth captioned the post.

Social media users have been left in stitches.

Chuyita said: “It was already too late to do the homework.”
