A hero beachgoer has saved a dolphin after the animal got trapped.
During an evening stroll, a group of locals noticed the aquatic mammal being buffeted against a set of jagged rocks and jumped into action.
The clip shows the dolphin appearing stuck in shallow water as it is repeatedly slammed against the cliffside by the waves.

The man carefully lowers himself to the animal’s position and struggles to push it out to sea.
After several minutes, he eventually manages to grab the dolphin by its tail.
The man drags it out of the shallow water before turning it to face the open sea.
The dolphin can be seen swimming away as the beachgoer receives a round of applause from onlookers.
The rescue took place in the resort town of Cozze near Bari, Italy, on the evening of 3 August.

A video of the brave moment has since gone viral on social media.
Multiple online users named the rescuer as a local resident, called Nando.
One person said: “Thanks to this brave man.”

Another commented: “Respect to you! You will remember this for the rest of your life.”
Roberto wrote: “I respect you, Nando.”
Last month, the rotting carcass of another dolphin was found on the same stretch of coastline, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The dead animal had apparently met a similar fate as the dolphin in the clip, only this time without a happy ending.
