One woman jetted off to Ibiza for a six hour vacation on her day off after her girls holiday never made it out of the group chat.
Katie Hopkins was not going to let diary clashes get in the way of a trip to sunny Spain – even if it was just for a day.
The 24-year-old spent £47 on a flight to the party island after her plan for a girl’s trip abroad went out the window.

After landing, the content creator and marketing associate bopped around beach clubs, cafes and the old town during her six hour stint in Spain.
“I just wanted to get away instead of spending the day at home,” Katie, from Kent, told What’s The Jam.
“I had been speaking to my friends about going away but we couldn’t find a date or a budget, so I decided to just go.
“It was a day off for me from work so I didn’t use any annual leave.
“It felt like a mini holiday.”

Katie jetted off from London Stansted on 23 Jun to Ibiza where a two hour delay severely impacted her time on the island.
In total, the day out cost £178, which included flights, drinks, food and souvenirs.
She landed in Ibiza at 1:30pm and had to make her way back to the airport around 7pm.

She said: “There was a two hour delay on the way out.
“So I was only in Ibiza for around six hours before heading back to the airport.”
After hopping in a taxi, she headed straight to Jondal beach club where she soaked up the sun and dipped her feet in the sea.
After a quick outfit change, Katie made her way into the old town for a coffee, a tasty froyo treat and her evening meal at La Oliva.
This trip was Katie’s first time travelling abroad on her own, despite often spending solo days out in the UK.
Fortunately, she felt safe throughout the day and even managed to bump into new people who were shocked by her day trip.
Katie continued: “I was actually completely fine – I felt safe.
“It was nice to actually just take myself out on a solo date, go for food and restaurants.
“I spoke to new people along the way at the airport and restaurants.
“Everyone was shocked when I said I was only in Ibiza for a day.”
Katie has only ever done one extreme day trip before when she surprised her sister with a trip to Milan.
The content creator stated that the ‘mini holiday’ cost about the same as a fancy night out in London.
She said: “It depends where and what you are doing in London.
“But the entire cost could have easily been the price of a dinner out in London at a fancy restaurant.”
