Boat passengers were stunned after a huge group of killer whales put on a spectacular display off Britain.
It is believed around 20 orcas from three or four different pods congregated off the Farne Islands, Northumberland.
One of the huge beasts even leapt for joy in a rare breaching behaviour.

Andrew Douglas, a skipper aboard Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours was impressed, as reported by Whats The Jam.
He said: “I’ve never seen an orca breach before.

“What a truly amazing day for everyone.
“I was blown away.”
Simon Morris was on board at the time.

And he was thrilled too.
He said: “I saw orcas 30 years ago on a camping trip to Scotland.
“But it was nothing like this encounter.

“It was simply stunning.”
The North East Cetacean Project’s coordinator Martin Kitching said ihere might be several groups of killer whales coming to the Northumberland coastal area.
“We think these are probably groups of animals that spend most of their time around Shetland and Orkney, and occasionally Iceland,” he said.
“What is clear there is a genuine change in their distribution which is great to see.”
