A driver was stunned when he saw a huge snake slithering along his car door.
Pietro Mastrosanti didn’t spot anything out of the ordinary when he climbed into his parked vehicle.
It was only when he was driving down the road and glanced to the side that he noticed the reptile on the other side of the window.

He got out his phone and started filming the bizarre scene in Anagni, south-east of Rome, Italy.
It happened yesterday (12 Jun), as reported on What’s The Jam.
The video shows how the snake slithers along the narrow ledge at the base of the window while the car is in motion.
It raises its head as Pietro narrates the unusual episode.
He brings his slow-moving car to a halt and taps on the window with his knuckle in an apparent bid to shake off the reptile.

But all the snake does is lower its head, with its body stuck firmly on the narrow shelf.
Pietro, who owns a local window company, said that when he first spotted the reptile, he thought it was a lizard.
It was only when he did a double-take that he realised it was actually a long snake.

He said that when he arrived at his destination, the snake hurled itself into the car’s interior.
But he didn’t catch that part on camera.
It’s not clear what species of snake it was, but local media say it’s likely one that’s harmless to humans.
