A beaver was caught farting on a wildlife camera.
A night vision video was set up to observe the rodents.
But it captured the windy beaver’s comedy moment by mistake.

It’s thought it may have been part of scent marking behaviour by the dam making animal.
The beavers live at Helman Tor Nature Reserve wildlife centre near St Austell, Cornwall.
Lauren Jasper, beaver officer at the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, couldn’t believe her ears, as reported by What’s The Jam.
“We put out camera traps to try and capture beaver behaviour.
“And we got loads of good stuff of them building dams, grooming, swimming.

“But what did stand out to us was the beaver breaking wind which gave us all a good laugh.
“But there is a really good reason.
“Beavers have a gland near their tail that can secrete an oil called castoreum which actually helps them mark their territory,” she said.

“We think it’s telling other beavers that it’s their patch.
“The wild release of beavers means this year is crucial for beavers.
“Beavers will play a vital role in nature’s recovery.”
She added: “As natural ecosystem engineers, beavers can reduce flooding and impacts of droughts, improve water quality and create a diverse range of habitats supporting a whole host of other wildlife.
“Beavers are key to creating a wilder, more sustainable future for all.
“We’re so excited to be part of the return of our beavers and seeing them come back to Cornwall over the coming months and years.”
